A pedestrian was treated in hospital after a hit-and-run in Bristol city centre.

The person was crossing Bond Street South when they were hit by a car on Friday (February 15).

The silver vehicle, which had travelled along Newfoundland Street, collided with the pedestrian at around 1.50am.

The driver then fled the scene in the direction of Temple Meads train station without stopping.

The pedestrian received minor injuries, which were treated at hospital.

Police officers are now appealing for witnesses of the incident to come forward.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: "We’re appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision in Bristol in which a car failed to stop at the scene.

"The collision happened at approximately 1.50am on February 15 on Bond Street South.

"The pedestrian suffered minor injuries which required treatment at hospital.

"Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who was in the area at the time and recorded dashcam footage, is asked to call 101 and provide the call handler with the reference  5219033716."
