Two men have been taken to hospital for treatment after a reported 'stabbing' outside a McDonald's restaurant in Bristol.

Police were called to the branch in Emery Road, opposite Brislington Park and Ride, just before 8.30pm on February 15 after receiving reports of violence.

Shortly after arriving at the scene they arrested a 16-year-old on suspicion of wounding, who remains in police custody today (February 16).

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police told Bristol Live: "We were called to reports of a disturbance outside McDonald's in Emery Road last night at about 8.25pm.

"Two men were taken to hospital for treatment.

The incident happened at the McDonald's restaurant just off Bath Road

"One received a cut to his arm and the other a cut to his back.

"Shortly afterwards a 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of wounding.

"He remains in police custody."

People took to social media to say how the site was 'locked down' with tape and riot gear, while others speculated it was a stabbing.

When contacted by Bristol Live, a member of staff at the restaurant said they were not able to comment.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and police are urging anyone with information to contact them on 101, quoting the reference number 5219034447.
