Bristol City return to action following the international break with a tricky looking trip up north.

The Robins travel to Elland Road to face Leeds in a 3pm kick-off on Saturday.

However, Robins fans hoping to catch the game on TV will be left disappointed despite the Yorkshire club having the majority of their games televised on Sky this season.

City will be desperate for a decent result following a run of three straight defeats before the pause for international friendlies and Nations League games.

It will be no easy task however, with their opponents flying high in third in the Championship, just one point off an automatic promotion place and three off the top.

Meanwhile, Bristol City are down in 13th following losses to Preston, Reading and Stoke.

Here's everything you need to know ahead of kick-off at Elland Road.

Match and TV details

The game will get underway at 3pm on Saturday, November 24.

Unfortunately for City fans unable to make the trip up north, the game will not be shown on Sky Sports.

Instead their cameras will be at Ipswich v West Brom on Friday night, Rotherham v Sheffield United on Saturday lunchtime and Brentford v Boro on Saturday evening.

Team news

Robins skipper Bailey Wright returned to action with the U23's this week.

This was his first appearance since the summer after missing several months of action with injury.

Mo Eisa and Hakeeb Adelakun could be back in the mix after long-term injury lay-offs.

Meanwhile, Leeds are sweating on the fitness of key defender Pontus Jansson, who pulled out of the Sweden squad with a foot injury and is currently being assessed.

The severity of his injury has not yet been confirmed although there are now fears he could miss next weekend’s clash.

Bailey Wright

Jansson was injured in the 4-1 defeat at West Brom last Saturday and has been unable to recover since.

Former Bristol City Luke Ayling defender is out until the new year with a knee injury while Gaetano Berardi is also ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Fellow defender Tom Pearce is also a doubt after missing the defeat to West Brom with a bruised metatarsal as Marcelo Bielsa had Under-23s full-back Leif Davis on the bench.

A further blow for Leeds came on Friday when back-up goalkeeper Jamal Blackman broke his leg in the U23s 3-0 defeat to Birmingham City.

There was some good news, though, as Blackman’s fellow Chelsea loanee Izzy Brown completed 45 minutes in the same outing as he works his way back to fitness.

Bielsa's thoughts

"I think he [Jansson] won’t be available for this weekend," said Bielsa at his lunch-time pre-Bristol City press conference.

"Until yesterday we thought he would be available but now the game is getting closer I don’t have the same optimism.

"He didn’t train with the group, so it's not probable he will play," added the Argentine.

The former Argentina head coach then went on to discuss his back-up options to play in the centre of defence with Jansson highly doubtful as well as detail that Leeds may be missing their goalkeeper too.

"Phillips can play as a centre-back or Aapo Halme is another possibility. He’s ready," he said.

"It will also be difficult for Peacock-Farrell to play because yesterday at the end of the training session he had a problem with his knee and probably won’t be able to play.

City thoughts

Obviously Bielsa is a top coach, one of the best in the business. It will be good to test ourselves against that.

Leeds are a good side who have some strengths but they also have some weaknesses as we saw in the last game against West Brom. We'll focus on us.

Going to Elland Road, it's a great place to play football with a great atmosphere, full house, and a lovely pitch.

The lads are desperate to put a performance in for the 700 or so fans who will be supporting the lads. Hopefully, they will be nice and loud to encourage the lads and the lads will be desperate to put in a performance.
