Leeds United and West Brom fans haven't reacted particularly well to Steve Lansdown's comments on promotion.

The Bristol City owner spoke to ITV West Country about the season restart and claimed that it would be a 'hollow victory' for anyone to be promoted without completing the remaining games.

Bristol City join West Brom and Leeds as sides who want to play the remaining games instead of deciding the season on an unweighted points per game system.

The EFL will meet today to discuss plans to finish the season and clubs will then vote on how they would like to end the campaign.

Lansdown expressed why he wants to finish the season, and said: "I just think that there's unfinished business out there and I don't think anybody should get promotion or be relegated without the full number of games played.

"We fancy our chances of getting into the play offs and having a crack at getting into the Premier League, I think from a Leeds and West Brom perspective, perhaps they're being brave by agreeing to it but like anybody else, it's a hollow victory if you don't get it by completing all the fixtures."

And his words have cut deep, leaving Leeds United and West Brom fans upset and clamouring to continue the war of words.

Here's how fans from the top two in the Championship reacted to Lansdown's comments.

Lee Johnson shakes and makes up with Marcelo Bielsa

Leeds United

JohnR1973: What I love is how Bielsa and Leeds are just getting on with the job in hand quietly & professionally so as to be ready for the restart if and when that happens! Concentrate on your own club and stop worrying about others (especially us).

Gary Tombs: Couldn’t care less about what he thinks!

David Watkins: Yep, I'm happy with hollow!

Shaun: This Lansdown absolutely hates us for beating him to Nketiah. The club have made it clear we want to play the remaining games.

David Michael Cox: I'm sure his opinion would change if by some miracle Bristol City found themselves in the same position.

Ryan: I want it finished properly even more now so WHEN we do lift the Trophy it would be great to see the faces of those who are hoping we get it prematurely so they can use it against us!

Paul Clough: Hollow or not it's deserved.

Caleb G: Almost like it’s our fault

West Brom

Graham Langford: It's only because we hammered them. They'd take it like a shot if they were in our position.

Paul Griffiths: Just look at the table.

Tim Wilson: Probably would be, am l bothered, no. Games behind closed doors hold very little attraction to me, wherever we are in the league.
