Norwich City fans are set to give a touching tribute to Denver Clinton, who lost his battle with cancer last week, when Bristol City make the trip to Carrow Road on Saturday.

The four-year-old was called a “superhero by everyone who knew of his battle”, state the Eastern Daily Press, and the tribute will take place in the fourth minute of the game against the Robins.

Robins supporters have been encouraged to take part in the applause, with Canaries midfielder Todd Cantwell calling on fans to deliver a memorable tribute to the brave child.

He tweeted: “The 4th minute of the game I would like a minutes applause in the name of Denver Clinton, a beautiful boy taken far too soon! Let’s make it as special as he was!”

Denver was carried onto the pitch at Carrow Road during Norwich's Boxing Day fixture against Nottingham Forest so he could place the match ball in the centre-circle.

Messages and tributes have poured in for the young boy, coming from personalities such as heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, boxer Billy Joe Saunders and The Voice judge Olly Murs, all of whom were touched by his story.

The game kicks off at 3pm on Saturday and Robins supporters have been asked to take part in the tribute.
