Forget the game against Wolves. The Robins are still in great shape in the league following seven Championship wins in a row.

With 15 games to go there remains a huge chance of making the top six, with both Derby County and Middlesbrough facing a big fight to gain a play-off position come May.

But if Bristol City are going to get promotion then they must improve their home form.

Away from their own patch Lee Johnson's side rank as the fifth best in the league having amassed 27 points from 15 games.

However at Ashton Gate it's a different story: just 26 points from 16 games. That means that the West Country side roll in 12th in the league, or equal 10th on points.

Chiefly, the team needs to improve its home form - and that could well happen in these final matches of the season with the whole stadium bouncing.

What must also happen is that City must score more goals in BS3. Only Middlesbrough have scored fewer both home and away this campaign, while City rank 17th in the league when considering just goals scored at home.

And for that to happen then Bristol City need more strikes from Famara Diedhiou, Matty Taylor, Jamie Paterson, Mo Eisa and Kasey Palmer in particular.

The Robins suffer badly when comparing the strike partnerships around the Championship.

  • Nobody has managed double figures this campaign
  • No scorers in the top 20 in the league
  • No partnerships in the top attacking partnerships in the league
  • Only two players with more than five goals (Famara Diedhiou, Andreas Weimann)

If Lee Johnson can get the Robins firing for this final third of the season - and there's no reason why he can't - then the club's goals could well be achieved in May 2019.
