How do you view the Wolves loss, a couple of days later?

We review it the same every Monday, got to take the positives, look what we done well and also look for improvement points and what we could do better.

We went through it the other day and we felt that, the first half wasn’t us at our best. I mean they're a good side. They're sitting seventh in the Premier League so you got to respect your opponents as well, they’ve got some top players.

We just, I mean, we competed in the first half, we just weren’t at our best. Made a few changes, changed the shape at half-time and then came out really front-footed and had a go. We caused them problems, they were on the back-foot for most the second half and to put a team like that under pressure for 45 minutes was excellent. We deserved more out of the game to be fair, in our opinion.

So it was a real plus to finish the game the way we did, really strong in the last 45 minutes. We still had one or two chances in the first half but we just weren’t at our tempo or our best really.

What happened at half time?

Just a few words exchanged, nothing, just a bit of passion I suppose.

You got yellow-carded yourself, is that right?

Well I didn’t know I got a yellow card until the fourth-official said to me in the second half, he said “you’ve been given a warning” so I didn’t know it was a caution until afterwards.

But no, it’s just something that happens in a game, a disagreement just before halftime on the decisions made and that was it really.

How do you view Norwich?

Norwich City's Teemu Pukki

Very good team with very good individual players. As a group and as a team they’re performing well, they’re scoring a lot of goals.

[Teemu] Pukki, the striker is in form, top goal-scorer in the Championship, I think 23 goals so we’ll have to keep him quiet but they're not a one-man team. They’ve got great players all over the pitch.

Both teams in form, we’re in form, they’re in form, makes for a great Championship game on Saturday. I’m sure it will be a full house at Carrow Road and we’re taking along a big support and I’m sure they’ll get behind the players.

It finished 2-2 earlier in the season at Ashton Gate, are they the best team you’ve seen in the Championship, this season?

Yeah, I’ll say they’re one of the best we’ve played and to keep that consistency up for, what is it? 32 games now? Shows how good a squad they’ve got because it’s such a tough division.

We feel as though we can go and cause them problems. We’re on a good run. We’re confident. The lads are in a good place, we’ve got a strong group, and we’ve got injuries coming back as well, a good squad.

So we think we can go and impose our game on them and we’re going to cause them problems.

How are you travelling there [Norwich]? Are you flying over?

Yeah, so we’re training then travelling.

If you’re flying, will you be affected by the BMI flights [following BMI’s recent collapse]?

Yeah, so we were going to fly, BMI but that got rearranged on Friday, Saturday morning, whenever it was [that] it came out, the news about that. That’s all been rearranged and we’re still flying on Friday.

You haven’t been allowed to borrow Steve's [Lansdown] jet, or anything like that?

No, no we’re alright, we’re still flying with a different company.

Lee Johnson, was spotted next to John Terry the other night [at Chelsea v Manchester United] do you know why he was there and what he was talking to John Terry about?

John Terry and Lee Johnson watch on at Stamford Bridge

No, he was just watching a top game, FA Cup game, two great teams. I was actually there myself, with my boy, we managed to get tickets as well.

It’s just good to see teams like that live, and players like that live. You can see how they do the warm-ups, you can see it better, I think, live than you can on TV.

It was just to see their shape and how they play and different ideas, really. So the gaffer just wanted to go down and see the game, and look at a few signings, I think.

Did you go down yourself with your son, or together?

Yeah, we travelled separate, yeah so the gaffer went down early and I went down in the afternoon.

Obviously he was at Newport [v Manchester City] as well at the weekend, taking in Tyreeq [Bakinson]’s performance, do you keep an eye on the loanees as well and how close was he [Tyreeq Bakinson] to almost achieving legendary status at Newport if that header had gone in?

I know, I think it was just behind him, he was unlucky. But yeah we also monitor the loan players, every Monday morning we come in we’ve got videos and clips of the loaned players we can watch. So yeah, we’re constantly monitoring them.

Obviously that was a great game for Tyreeq to play in, he was unlucky with his chance but did very well in the game and he’s been doing very well, as a lot of loan players have been.

How is the squad looking for the Norwich game, any injuries we need to be aware of?

No, pretty much full strength. Nicky Maenpaa is back training also, Jack Hunt’s trained all week, Korey Smith’s back running, so yeah, pretty much full strength.

The last time City beat Norwich away from home was ten years ago, you were playing in that game, records are made to be broken aren’t they? So are you confident going into this one?

Oh right! Yeah, really confident.

As you say, records are made to be broken. We don’t look too much into that, it’s just the next game, the next game we think we can go and win and if we perform the way we have been then we can.

It’s a great stadium, I used to love playing there as a player, there’s a great atmosphere, always, at Carrow Road.

As I said, two teams in great form and a real top six game in the Championship.

Absolutely, the run in for Bristol City is quite hard but you’re playing teams in and around you so in some ways that’s quite a good thing isn’t it? Because if you get points off of them you push yourself further up the table.

Yeah, that’s what you want. You want to play teams in and around you and take points off them, obviously.

But as you said, some tough games but every game in the Championship is tough. There’s no easy games so we focus on the next game. We know the fixtures coming up and know we have 15 games to get 45 points and 45 points at stake so we try and get as many on the board as possible as soon as we can.

The game is Saturday and we hope to get all three points.
