It's fair to say shoppers in Clifton already have plenty of choice, with busy areas like the Triangle and Whiteladies Road packed with big-name shops and restaurants and Clifton Village full of smaller, independent boutiques.

However, shops in Bristol are a constantly-changing picture and one corner of Clifton is set to welcome two new stores in the coming weeks - both of which are very different.

The two new arrivals are both opening on the Triangle within a few metres of each other.

Soho Coffee Co will be opening in the former Carphone Warehouse store on Queens Road, close to Eat a Pitta and Costa Coffee.

Soho Coffee Co is opening in the former Carphone Warehouse shop on Clifton Triangle

The chain started life on Cheltenham's High Street in 1999 and now has outlets all over the world, in places such as London, Las Palmas, Dublin and Doha.

It recently closed its branch in Cabot Circus after being based at the shopping centre for more than 10 years and at the time, the brand reassured customers it was opening another site nearby.

It serves a range of coffees, teas and other cold and hot drinks, along with cakes and sandwiches.

The other new shop

The other new business opening on the Triangle bears no resemblance to a coffee shop, but is sure to be every bit as popular.

Card shop brand Scribbler is opening in the former Flight Centre shop close to where Soho Coffee Co will be based.

The brand is well-known for its jokey, quirky and often-risque greetings cards, plus its range of gifts and accessories.

It is thought both Scribbler and Soho Coffee Co will be open in the next few weeks.
