THE Worcester Education Awards has secured a new sponsor.

The new sponsor is Worcestershire Children First, a not for profit company owned by Worcestershire County Council.

The company will be responsible for delivering services to children and young people from 1 October 2019.

It will be operationally independent and have a single focus on children and young people.

Catherine Driscoll, chief executive of Worcestershire Children First, said: "We are proud to be sponsoring the Special Education Needs (SENCO) Award which recognises exceptional support for those with special educational needs or disabilities.

“Our vision is for Worcestershire to be a wonderful place for all children and young people to grow up and as sponsor of this award we are honoured to pay tribute to all of the amazing teachers, departments and organisations making a big difference to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities in the county.

"If you know a worthy teacher, department or organisation I would urge you to get your nominations in before the April closing date.”

Nominations for the awards, which recognise outstanding achievement and dedication to education across the county, have been coming in in huge numbers.
