BATON ROUGE, La. (WVLA/WGMB) — Baton Rouge Entrepreneur Week, more commonly referred to as BREW, highlights Louisiana entrepreneurs over a four day period in the Capital City.

On Nov. 15, area angel investors will gather to award one Louisiana entrepreneur with a $100,000 investment in their start-up. The ‘High Stakes Pitch’ competition began with about forty businesses all vying for the chance to present their business idea, or pitch, to a panel of investors.

At Friday’s event, the four finalists will each have ten minutes to make a formal presentation followed by a ten minute question and answer session with the panel.

Angel investor and president of GMFS Mortgage Tee Brown, stressed that his contribution to the $100,000 is not part of a prize package and instead, a legitimate investment into a Louisiana business. An initial investment of $25,000 was made by Waitr founder and CEO Chris Meaux.

The event begins at 5 p.m. at Lyceum on Third Street and tickets may be purchased online for $10 at brew.regfox.com/brew2019.

BREW began in 2010.
