The Hilltop boys cross country team took the team title at the Buckeye Border Conference Championships at Harrison Lake State Park in Fayette on Saturday.
The Cadets won with a point total of 49. Fayette was second with 53, followed by Montpelier (62) in third, Edon (123) in fourth and North Central (125) in fifth.
The Cadets’ first-place finish was led by Tucker Beres (18:37) in fifth, Coleton Beres (19:13) in eighth, Jay Garrett (19:14) in ninth, Carson Jennings (19:25) in 10th and Joe Reamsnyder (20:27) in 17th.
Stryker senior Emanuel Villanueva took the individual title with a finishing time of 17:12, which was 34 seconds ahead of Fayette’s Quinn Mitchell, who was second in 17:46.
Montpelier’s third-place finish was led by Daniel Belknap (18:18) in third, Garrett Walz (18:40) in sixth, Scott Hillard (20:04) in 12th, Jaden Fackler (20:14) in 13th and Peyton Cupp (22:54) in 31st.
Edon’s fourth-place finish was led by Garrett Dowdy (20:17) in 14th, Hunter Howard (22:16) in 27th, Trey Whitney (22:40) in 28th, Thad Howard (25:08) in 39th and Gage Eicher (25:25) in 40th.
North Central was led by Quin Burt (18:26) in fourth, Manny Cuz (22:10) in 26th, Jack Bailey (24:30) in 35th, Clayton Douglas (24:43) in 36th and Colton Hicks (25:28) in 41st.
Pettisville’s girls won the team title with a point total of 28, followed by Montpelier (65) in second and Fayette (111) in third.
Pettisville’s Kate Stuber won the individual title in 20:30, which was 56 seconds ahead of Stryker’s Trinitie Woolace, who placed second in 21:26.
Montpelier’s second-place finish was led by Brinn Miller (23:01) in fifth, Alison Lamontagne (23:54) in ninth, Lyndsi Engels (24:00) in 11th, Gabby Stefanelli (25:04) in 15th and Emily Fritsch (27:11) in 27th.
Rounding out the finishers for Stryker were Alexia Wickerham (23:06) in sixth, Abby Grice (28:17) in 30th and Adryan Sanchez (36:24) in 45th.
North Central was led by Brooke McClanahan (25:56) in 19th, Brandi Schofield (26:05) in 20th, Kila Reeser (26:24) in 21st, Eryn Shaw (26:40) in 24th and Jenna Roth (31:29) in 42nd.
Hilltop was led by Leanna Baker (24:00) in 10th, Jackie Wagner (26:40) in 25th, Ashlie Higdon (30:19) in 38th, Emily Banks (30:36) and Maddie Schaper (32:58) in 43rd.
Edon’s Trinity Altaffer was 29th in 27:38.
