2019 small forward Tyler Wahl signs with Wisconsin

The only known commit of this recruiting cycle makes it official with the Badgers.

The one known verbal commitment for Greg Gard's class of 2019 officially locked up his spot in Madison, as small forward Tyler Wahl signed his National Letter of Intent to play for the Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball program on Wednesday.

A Lakeville, Minn. (North), native, Wahl verbally committed back on June 21. 247Sports standalone rankings rate him a four-star prospect, the No. 140 player in the country, the No. 36 small forward and No. 4 player in the state of Minnesota. Rivals lists him as a three-star prospect and the No. 35 small forward in the nation.

Officially listed at 6’7 and 200 pounds by Wisconsin, Wahl claimed second-team all-state honors as a junior by the Associated Press after putting up 17.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game last season.

“We are very excited to add Tyler to our program,” Gard said in Wisconsin’s release. “His commitment and work ethic in the classroom and on the court are exactly what we look for in a Wisconsin student-athlete.

”Tyler’s ability to play and guard multiple positions is extremely valuable with the way the game has evolved. Fans will enjoy the energy and passion with which he plays. He comes from a winning high school program and knows what it takes to compete for championships. Tyler has a skill set matched with great athleticism that has us excited to work with him, and to help him reach his potential as a Badger.”

Wahl announced on April 23 that Wisconsin had offered him. According to 247Sports, he held 13 offers in all, with Minnesota, Iowa State, Northwestern, and Butler, among others, pursuing his talents to play at the collegiate level.
