The one known verbal commitment for Greg Gard's class of 2019 officially locked up his spot in Madison, as small forward Tyler Wahl signed his National Letter of Intent to play for the Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball program on Wednesday.
A Lakeville, Minn. (North), native, Wahl verbally committed back on June 21. 247Sports standalone rankings rate him a four-star prospect, the No. 140 player in the country, the No. 36 small forward and No. 4 player in the state of Minnesota. Rivals lists him as a three-star prospect and the No. 35 small forward in the nation.
Officially listed at 6’7 and 200 pounds by Wisconsin, Wahl claimed second-team all-state honors as a junior by the Associated Press after putting up 17.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game last season.

Wahl announced on April 23 that Wisconsin had offered him. According to 247Sports, he held 13 offers in all, with Minnesota, Iowa State, Northwestern, and Butler, among others, pursuing his talents to play at the collegiate level.

(Lakeville North High School)A 6-foot-7 forward from Lakeville, Minnesota, Wahl earned Associated Press second-team all-state honors after his junior season at Lakeville North High School. A four-star recruit, Wahl averaged 17.5 points, 12.0 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 2.9 blocks per game while shooting 63.1 percent from the field during his junior year.
Wahl helped lead Lakeville North to a record of 27-5 last season and a trip to the Class AAAA state tournament semifinals. In his final game at the state tournament last season, Wahl tallied 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Wahl is a former high school teammate of current Badger sophomore Nate Reuvers.
