Valentine's week in Burlington: Hygge, CBD meditation and sad concerts

Burlington keeps things exciting year round. Valentine's Day is no exception. 

You have plenty of events at your disposal on the day of love — which falls on a Thursday — and the following weekend. Regardless of your price range and preferred past times, you are bound to find something that warms your heart. 

Feb. 12, Tuesday

Great Northern Sober Dinner

The restaurant's second event dedicated to sobriety is taking place Tuesday evening for anyone who wants to enjoy some mocktails with their dinner. Part of the funds raised will go toward the Turning Point Center. 5 to 9 p.m. Info: No tickets or reservations required.

Ladies Night with Stonecutter Spirits

A fundraiser for WomenSafe is bringing a Galentine's Day to enjoy cocktails and show your love for your female friendships. 5 to 10 p.m.

Feb. 13, Wednesday

Galentine's Day Comedy Show

The Vermont Comedy Club is bringing you a comedy event specifically "for you and your best girlfriends." Get laughing and get out there if you have free time. 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets: $5

Feb. 14, Valentine's Day, Thursday

Valentine's Day Partner Workout

Just because it's Valentine's Day doesn't mean you can't incorporate a little workout. All Wellness Physical Therapy & Pilates will get your heart race going, "complete with a Valentine's Day Playlist". 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tickets: $17

Ugly Valentine: A Relationship Myths Workshop 

The Pride Center is bringing you a free event to help you dispel relationship myths. There will be snacks! 5:30 to 7 p.m. 

Valentine's Day Date Night - Marked By Love

If you're feeling creative on Valentine's Day, you can stop by the Burlington Paint and Sip Studio and churn out a piece of art for yourself or someone else! 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets: $35 

The Saddest Little Concert in the World

The Slow Cookers are offering listeners an opportunity to listen to "sad little cover tunes from a happy little cover band" at Old Spokes Home. To clarify, the event page does not consider this a singles or couples event, but just a chance for people to enjoy music with others. 7:30 p.m. Tickets: available with a suggested donation of $5 to 10 (you can give donations at the door as well), but the event reassures no one will be refused!

Feb. 15, Friday

Shop & Sip 

If you're 21 and up, you can go to the Church Street Marketplace and get your sippin' on. Whether you want kombucha or wine, you can find it here. 5 to 8 p.m. Tickets: $5 for tasting flute. 

No Ordinary Love: An R&B Party at Club Metronome

This fundraiser for Planned Parenthood will take you through different musical eras, so you're bound to find at least one song you can dance to. 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Event is free, but a donation of $5 to Planned Parenthood is suggested. 

Bolton Valley V-Day Shred

Your favorite winter sports are not off-limits this weekend. UVM Ski & Snowboard Club is encouraging people to hit the slopes to kick off the weekend. 5:15 to 9 p.m.

Feb. 16, Saturday

CBD Guided Meditation

If you're trying to find a way to relax this weekend, look no further: You can register online "to experience a much deeper and more restorative state of healing meditation than most of us are capable of achieving on our own." 3 to 4:30 p.m. Tickets: $20

How About Some Hygge?! A free candle-lit show at ArtsRiot

ArtsRiot is providing some warmth in the Vermont winter with a chance to "cozy up in a warm candlelit room" for warm drinks, music, "sweets, treats, and a whole lot of togetherness." 7 to 10 p.m. 

Traffic Light Party

Ri Ra's is giving you an opportunity to potentially find a significant other — if that's what you're into. Different wristband colors mean different relationship statuses: Find out which one you should wear on Saturday. 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
