With several inches on the ground already and snow continuing to fall, state officials warn against travel across the state.

Webcams and social media posts all depict the snow piling up on area roads. While that won't stop all Vermont residents from hitting the roads amid an ongoing Winter Storm Warning, the headaches the snow are causing are very real, as documented Sunday morning by Burlington Free Press' Ryan Mercer on Twitter.

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect across the state of Vermont until 4 p.m. this afternoon, according to a National Weather Service report Sunday morning.

This means heavy and blowing snow along with dangerously cold wind chills should be expected across the state.

Wind chills are expected to be as low as 25 to 35 below zero, while 6 to 9 more inches of snow is predicted to fall.

If so, Winter Storm Harper could hit between 9 to 16 inches total in parts across the state.

The weather service warned that blowing snow would make travel across the state difficult on Sunday.
