Get ready for another one or two inches of rain to fall overnight across most of the already-soaked state.

Meteorologists at the Burlington office of the National Weather Service expect widespread rainfall between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.

A 2013 file photo shows flooding in Huntington.

Forecasters warned Vermonters to watch out for rapidly-rising streams causing flooding on roads, since recent rains have already saturated the ground.

The rain is forecast to cut a swath from the Adirondacks across the Champlain Valley  and from Rutland to St. Johnsbury.
