The waters of Lake Champlain flood the King Street ferry terminal in Burlington on Sunday, April 21, 2019.

High water levels in Vermont contributed to road closures and stranded vehicles, according to reports. The National Weather Service issued flood watches and warnings throughout the last week and has an updated statement Monday.

A water rescue team was available in Lyndonville —  "where the National Weather Service office in Burlington reported vehicles had become stranded in floodwaters," according to an Associated Press report on Saturday.

Closures over the weekend included areas along the following roads:

  • Pentingill Road (between Phelps Road in Westford and Vermont 128 in Essex).
  • North Williston Road in Essex (at the bridge).
  • Brandon Vermont 73.
  • Rochester Bethel Mountain Road.
  • Lyndonville U.S. 5 and Vermont 122 (Intersection closed) .
