You're going to want to schedule your leaf-peeping trip now, because Vermont is making its way out of foliage season.

You can still get great pictures of vibrant leaves around the Green Mountain State, according to Vermont.com, which determines how far along foliage season is across the region with input from the public.

But the website's latest report from Oct. 18 said a good portion of the state is "past peak foliage conditions." The northeastern and central parts of Vermont are in the "late" stages, according to a map available on the website. Other portions of the state, like Burlington, Brattleboro, Montpelier and areas along Lake Champlain, are still at "peak."

The season is moving along, but you still have time to enjoy all the beauty that Vermont fall has to offer. Vermont.com refers to its own event calendar to encourage people to celebrate autumn.
