As the first measurable snow in the Burlington area is tapering off, snowfall totals are rolling in.

Totals range from a dusting to a few inches, according to the National Weather Service in Burlington. The Burlington International Airport in South Burlington reported 2.5 inches of snow as of 7 a.m. Friday.

Here are the top 10 snowfall totals in Vermont, reported to the National Weather Service as of Friday at 10:45 a.m.

  4. Derby Center: 3.1 inches as of 7 a.m. Friday

Robert Haynes, a National Weather Service meteorologist, said the service doesn't expect much more snow to fall in the Champlain Valley after 8 a.m.

Morning commuters in the Burlington area woke up to snow-covered roads Friday morning, Nov. 8, 2019.

Snow may redevelop this afternoon, mainly in the Northeast Kingdom, Haynes said. Those areas could see an additional half-inch of snow.

Ski resort totals

Several Vermont ski resorts also reported on social media how much snow they received.

  • Bolton Valley: 5 inches
  • Jay Peak: 4 to 5 inches
  • Stowe Mountain Resort: 6 inches

Report your snow totals

The National Weather Service on Twitter encouraged followers to send them messages with how much snow they received throughout the state. People can also report snow totals using the National Weather Service's website

When reporting snow totals, National Weather Service has asked for location, time of measurement, and measurement to the nearest tenth of an inch.
