What was the snow forecast for this storm?

As of Thursday morning, much of the state remained under a winter weather advisory and was expected to receive anywhere between 2 and 6 inches of snow by the end of the storm, the National Weather Service said. In some northern counties — including Franklin, Orleans, Lamoille, Grand Isle and parts of Chittenden — about 5 to 10 inches were expected and those areas were under a winter storm warning.

"Areas of blowing snow this afternoon could significantly reduce visibility and make for additional travel issues," the National Weather Service said in its warning.

Snow throughout the state was expected to taper off by Thursday night.
