SATURDAY

Burr and Burton 48, Hartford 29

BBA (2-0): Joey McCoy, 10-of-16, 139 yards and a TD. McCoy also rushed for 82 yards and a TD. Logan Morgan had 56 yards rushing and two TDs, Will Moore added 52 yards and two TDs.

Hartford (1-1): Cole Jasmin 292 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT. Randy Shambo 82 yards, TD.

Note: BBA led 20-10 at the break and pushed that margin to 41-16 deep into the third quarter.

Essex 36, Rice 6

Champlain Valley 27, Mount Mansfield 18

C (1-1): Seth Boffa 2 rushing TDs, Angelos Carroll 6-yard TD rush, Ryan Canty 34-yard TD catch from Max Destito.

MM (0-2): Owen Trudeau 2 TD passes, Corey Peoples TD catch, 70-yard TD fumble recovery, Mason Combs TD catch.

Note: Angelos Carroll’s 6-yard TD gave CVU a 20-18 lead in the third quarter and Boffa’s second TD, a 40-yarder, sealed coach Rahn Fleming’s first victory as Redhawks coach.

Fair Haven 36, Lyndon 0

FH (1-1): Aubrey Ramey 237 passing yards, 2TDs, Kohlby Murray 171 rushing yards, 2TDs, Aubrey Ramey 177 receiving yards, 2TDs, Dylan Lee 1 rush TD.

L (1-1): Matthew Lazzaro 54 rushing yards.

Note: Fair Haven closed out a 29-point first half with a blocked punt for a safety in the final minute of the second quarter. Ramey fired TD passes of 27 and 47 yards and Murray’s second TD rush came from 47 yards out.

BFA-Fairfax/Lamoille 6, Poultney 0

BFA (2-0): Noah Brock 17 carries, 101 yards rushing, 1 rushing TD

P (1-1): Caden Capman 12 carries, 76 yards rushing.

Note: Noah Brock scored the game's only TD with 11:12 to play and intercepted a Caden Capman pass at the goal line late in the fourth period to preserve the 6-0 victory.

Springfield 60, Oxbow 26

S (2-0): Sam Presch 9-for-15, 197 yards passing, 3 passing TD

O (1-1): Cooper Simmons 9-for-26, 263 yards passing, 3 passing TD, 2 INT thrown.

C (2-0): Alex Rublee 56 rushing yards, 2 TDs, Brody Stannard 52 rushing yards. Max Grenier TD on fumble recovery.

B: (1-1): CJ McAllister 47 rushing yards. Owen Bonnette 2-yard TD rush. Matt Bayard 5 catches for 33 yards.

Note: Alex Rublee’s second TD rush came from 58 yards out in the fourth quarter to give the Lakers their final margin of victory. In the third quarter, Colchester broke a 7-all tie when Max Grenier recovered a fumble in the BFA end zone for the score.

Middlebury 49, Burlington/South Burlington* 20

SJA (2-0): Trey Alercio 18-for-26, 299 yards passing. Hunter Palmieri 6 catches, 132 yards receiving. Dave Hutchison 9-yard and 2-yard rushing TD. Austin Fenoff 23-yard receiving TD

R (1-1): Owen Perry 21-for-36, 184 yards passing, 2 passing TD. Garrett Davine 11-yard receiving TD. Malik Hendrickson 27-yard receiving TD. Hunter Postemski 37 carries, 133 yards rushing, 1 rushing TD

Note: Hilltoppers rally from 28-14 third period deficit as Dave Hutchison ran 2 yards for a score, Austin Fenoff caught a 23-yard pass from Trey Alercio, and Hunter Palmieri made a circus catch for a 35-31 lead with 2:41 left. With a defender committing pass interference against him Palmieri made a leaping grab on a 26-yard play. Rutland led by as much as 21-7 in the first half and 28-14 after the opening possession of the third period.

Mount Abraham 22, Milton 8

MTA (1-1): Adam Mansfield 120 passing yards, 34-yard FG, Nate Lavoie 50 yards rushing, TD, Joey Hemingway INT, 30-yard TD punt return. Griffin Louer TD rush.

M (0-2): Evan Tinker TD catch fro Kayden Burke.

Note: First-year coach Jeff Stein picked up his first win.

North Country 15, Spaulding 14

NC (1-1): Jack Young 2 total TD (1 pass, 1 rush). Kevin Lantagne TD catch. Sam Austin 2-point conversion catch.

S: Aiden Blouin 2 total TDs (1 rush, 1 pass). Jackson Pierson (TD catch).

Note: North Country led 15-0 at halftime before holding off Spaulding’s comeback bid. Spaulding scored its second TD with less than 2 minutes to play, but the onside kick was recovered by North Country.
