Week 1 top performers

Essex's George Goldsworthy throws during his team's 10-6 loss to S.D. Ireland in the opening game of the Vermont Baseball Summer League on Wednesday in Hinesburg.

Griff Briggs, Rutland: Tossed a no-hitter with nine strikeouts and one walk in the 8-0 win over Bennington.

Wyatt Cameron, S.D. Ireland: The Middlebury product produced a bases-clearing double in a six-run first inning, and then came on for the win in relief on the mound, guiding the Shamrocks past Essex in the opener. He also pitched three scoreless innings for the save in the back-and-forth victory over the Cannons.

George Goldsworthy, Essex: As a table-setter, Goldsworthy totaled three hits and four walks over the first week, which included a pair of games vs. Bases Loaded, a non-league team.

Andrew Goodrich, Essex: Blasted a two-run home run in the fifth inning during a 3-for-5, three-RBI effort as Essex romped past Montpelier 23-1. Essex used an 18-run seventh frame to break it up.

Dom Liscinsky, Colchester: The former BFA-St. Albans standout cracked a one-out, three-run double in a seven-run fourth inning to erase an early deficit in the victory over Barre.

Parker Morse, Lakes Region: Drove in three runs in the eye-opening, 32-0 win over Rutland in the opener. Morse also had two hits and two RBIs in the 16-4 besting of Manchester for a hot-hitting Lakes Region side.

Aubrey Ramey, Lakes Region: The former Fair Haven star took a no-hitter into the fourth inning in seven-strikeout performance in the opener and also drove in three runs on three hits in his team's second game.

Tyler Skaflestad, S.D. Ireland: The 2019 CVU grad had a two-RBI single and walked in the season-opening win, doubled in the tying run in the seventh inning of a 4-1, 8-inning victory vs. South Burlington and then scored the go-ahead run in the 5-4 victory over Colchester.

S.D. Ireland's Tyler Skaflestad fields a grounder at second base during his team's 10-6 win over Essex in the opening game of the Vermont Baseball Summer League on Wednesday in Hinesburg.
