Macdonald, Heimert power Burlington boys lacrosse past Montpelier

Burlington's McCall Heimert, seen in action last season, tallied three goals and an assist in the Seahorses' win over Montpelier on Monday.

Behind big performances from Duncan Macdonald and McCall Heimert, Burlington toppled Montpelier 11-4 in a high school boys lacrosse contest at Buck Hard Field on Monday night.

The Seahorses improve to 1-2.

Macdonald tallied four goals and an assist and Heimert added a trio of tallies with one helper to carry the Seahorses.

Milo Trabusly struck for two goals and Sullivan Weston posted nine saves for the hosts.

South Burlington 14, Rice 6: Joe Balkan racked up five goals and an assist as host South Burlington started to pull away with a third-quarter run to defeat Rice.

Griffin Lawrence (two goals, two assists), Nico Strempek (two goals, assist) and Aaron Murakami (goal, three assists) also earned multi-point games for the Wolves (1-1). 

Goalie Brett Bohlman added a first-quarter goal and finished with nine saves in net.

For Rice (0-2), Paddy Kwass led the way with a goal and two assists and Cam Kinsell turned back seven shots.
