Middlebury’s Emily Laframboise, left, fires a goal past South Burlington goalie Claire Phillips during Tuesday’s high school girls lacrosse game in South Burlington.

More about each candidate:

Gina Airoldi, Mount Mansfield softball: Fanned 11 batters and walked two in a winning effort against Rice on Wednesday. A day later, she struck out 11 more batters in a shutout win over Milton, adding two hits and four RBIs at the plate.

Ruby Ball, Mount Abraham softball: Ball fanned 12 batters and yielded a single earned run against Vergennes and helped her own cause by going 3-for-4 with six RBIs and a pair of triples at the plate in a 14-8 win on Thursday.

Emily Laframboise, Middlebury girls lacrosse: Had five of the Tigers' 11 goals against Champlain Valley on Wednesday before pumping in six more in a tense win over Essex a day later.

Christina March, South Burlington girls lacrosse: March's fourth goal came with 2:46 to play to lead the Wolves to a 12-11 win over Rice on Tuesday and then fired in eight more in a victory over Rutland on Thursday.

Audrey Tembreull, Vergennes softball: The freshman hit for the cycle in an impressive 4-for-4 outing as Vergennes fell to rival Mount Abraham 14-8 on Thursday.

Vote here for Boys Athlete of the Week

South Burlington's Jack Ambrosino winds up for a pitch in the Division I high school baseball semifinals on Tuesday at South Burlington.

More about each candidate:

Jack Ambrosino, South Burlington baseball: The junior hurler's impressive start to the season — he had a one-hitter to start the campaign against Burlington — continued with a 15-strikeout two-hitter as the Wolves beat BFA-St. Albans.

James Bernicke, Champlain Valley boys lacrosse: The Redhawks' scoring whiz produced a hat trick with four assists in a 16-8 win over Middlebury and followed that up with a hat trick and two helpers to lead CVU past Cape Elizabeth (Maine).

Colby Brouillette, BFA-St. Albans baseball: The Bobwhites star went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer to spur BFA past Hartford 13-3 on Friday.

Storm Rushford, Champlain Valley baseball: Less than a week after surgery to remove his chemotherapy report, and after missing almost the entirety of last season fighting cancer, the junior right-hander opened the 2019 season by fanning seven batters in a one-hit performance to beat Burlington 14-0 in five innings on Thursday.

Milo Trabulsy, Burlington boys lacrosse: Supplied a pair of goals against Rice on Wednesday before firing in five goals and four assists for the Seahorses in a 12-6 win over Colchester on Friday night.

Next ballot?

Check back next Monday for the next batch of worthy candidates. As always, voting runs through midnight the following Thursday. Winners will be announced on Friday.
