Texas has a chance to hit a home run with two key recruits and they’ll have some current commits on campus to help them do so.

With the final weekend before the early signing period upon us, the Texas Longhorns are set to host of handful of commits and key targets just days before pens will meet paper.

Though the list isn’t nearly as large as a typical major recruiting weekend, it’s major, nevertheless, and what takes place throughout the coming days should prove essential for Texas’ hopes of capping the 2019 class on a high note.

Here’s a look at the future and potential Longhorns who will be in attendance:

2019

  • Jordan Whittington — 4-star WR — Cuero — Texas commit
  • De’Gabriel Floyd — 4-star ILB — Westlake (Calif.) Village — Texas commit — OV
  • Roschon Johnson — 4-star QB — Port Neches-Groves
  • Jalen Catalon — 4-star S — Mansfield Legacy — OV
  • Myron Warren — 3-star SDE — Many (La.) — Texas commit
  • Isaiah Hookfin — 3-star OT — Sugar Land Dulles — OV

As noted by The Football Brainiacs, elite Mansfield Legacy defensive back Jalen Catalon will be on the Forty Acres this weekend for his official visit. Texas already holds pledges from a pair of cornerback prospects in Kenyatta Watson II and Marques Caldwell, and another pair of safety commitments from Chris Adimora and Tyler Owens, but Catalon would be an ideal fit at nickel back and could serve as the cherry atop Texas’ second elite defensive back class in as many cycles. TCU remains a threat, but Arkansas is considered the team to beat here, so it’s essential that Texas hits a home-run with the in-state product this weekend.

Catalon is set for a January decision.

Isaiah Hookfin, on the other hand, looks to be much more of a sure thing. The Longhorns are considered the far-and-away frontrunners, owning each of his 14 Crystal Ball projections. The weekend’s official visit could be one seals Hookfin’s commitment, and ultimately, his signature in the coming days as part of a offensive line haul that already features a pair of elite prospects in Tyler Johnson and Javonne Shepherd — the latter won’t sign early and will continue to evaluate his options.

2021

  • Landyn Watson — 4-star WDE — Hutto
