Texas offers 4-star Oklahoma WR Javian Hester

Tom Herman and his staff have once again turned their attention towards the Sooner state in search of top-tier talent, with the latest example coming in the form Javian Hester, a top 100 prospect out of Tulsa (Okla.) Booker T. Washington.

Hester’s invitation to take his talents to Texas came while the four-star wide receiver was on the Forty Acres for the Longhorns Junior Day.

A rapidly-rising recruit, Hester is now up to 14 total offers; six of which have been extended throughout the past two weeks, with Texas now joining Georgia, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Arkansas, and Michigan as programs in the mix, among others.

Hester is now just the eighth 2020 wide receiver to receiver an offer from the Longhorns, and only six of the bunch remain uncommitted. Furthermore, he joins four-star Broken Arrow offensive tackle Andrew Raym and four-star Broken Arrow safety Myles Slusher as Oklahoma natives with a Texas offer in hand, but the Horns appear to have some work to do in this recruitment.

At this juncture, the home-state Sooners are unsurprisingly considered the team team beat, owning each of his four Crystal Ball projections. Hester has visited Oklahoma three times within the past year.

A 6’3, 175-pound pass-catcher, Hester is currently ranked as the nation’s No. 95 player overall, No. 20 receiver, and as the No. 2 player in Oklahoma, per the 247Sports Composite.
