Internet2 Global Summit Convenes Technology Leaders from Research and Education in Washington D.C.

WASHINGTON--()--Internet2 will host its annual Global Summit event on March 5-8 at the Marriott Marquis Washington DC for both national and international technology leaders from higher education, K-20 education, government and nonprofit laboratories, research centers, federal agencies, and industry. The event will feature two keynote speakers, presentations from noted subject-matter experts, and sessions focused on trust and identity, advanced networking, information security, and integrated solutions for research, scholarship and creativity.

Program Features:

  • Jeannette M. Wing, Avanessians Director of the Data Science Institute and professor of computer science at Columbia University, presenting “Data for Good: Data Science at Columbia” at 10:30 a.m. ET Wednesday, March 6.
  • Vinton G. Cerf, vice president and chief internet evangelist at Google, presenting “Pacification of Cyberspace” at 3:15 p.m. ET Thursday, March 7.
  • Event program includes two in-depth tutorials, 30 presentations, 40 working meetings, and three co-located workshops.
  • International Open House where attendees from across the global research and education communities share updates, posters, and lightning talks.
  • Demonstration of the latest Cloud Connect Portal capabilities in the Internet2 Network OESS 2.0, allowing regional networks and higher education members to “direct connect” with cloud providers with user-provisioned Layer3 networks.
