Three men have been taken to hospital after a lorry crash near Shepreth, Cambridgeshire earlier today (March 19).

As a result of the accident the road has been closed since around 12.20 this afternoon. The lorry was reported to police as being on its side in a ditch next to the road.

The B1368 Fowlmere Road remains closed in both directions between Thriplow Road and Brook Road. The closure is still in place while officers await further recovery works.

There is currently stationary traffic due to accident and drivers in the area are being told to expect long delays on approach.

A spokeswoman for Cambridgeshire Constabulary said: “We were called today (Tuesday March 19) at about 11.30am to reports of a lorry on its side in a ditch on the B1368 between Newton and Fowlmere. 

“Three men have been taken to Addenbrooke’s hospital, the extent of their injuries are not known at this stage.”
