Cambridgeshire Live has been given VIP access to Cambridge's funktastic new nightclub Vinyl ahead of its Friday (September 21) night launch.

Key features of the new Sidney Street venue include numerous glitter balls and a huge illuminated dance floor to help you boogie on down in style.

The group-friendly venue also features seven retro booths, each with table service throughout the night.

Meanwhile private parties are catered for with VIP areas each with their own private flashing dancefloor.

If that doesn't get your pulses racing, TV legend Pat Sharp will be opening the club.

The much-loved TV presenter and DJ will be followed at the club by 90s pop sensation Lolly - who will performing her smash hit 'Mickey.'

Pat will appear at the grand opening on the Friday, with Lolly taking to the stage on Saturday, September 22.

A spokesman for the venue said: "We’ve got booths with inflatable guitars and dress-up items, as well as a new VIP area with its own dance floor, to make every night a party night.

"We can’t wait to reveal Vinyl and get the party started.

"We are confident it’s going to be pick of the pops, with hits from the 80s, 90s and 00s and songs that everyone loves."

The club promises 80s, 90s and 00s cheesy tunes and guilty pleasures.

The must be seen in club replaces Kuda on Sidney Street following a £550,000 investment by The Deltic Group .

It promises to become a mainstay of Cambridge nightspots, as Vinyl also has other venues across the country, which host a huge array of fun themed nights including roller disco, Zumba and throwback Thursday.
