Cambridge has been named as one of the top 10 most expensive cities to go out for dinner in the UK.

We all know that when we head out for a nice meal and a cocktail or two it's going to cost a few pennies, but according to new research, we are paying a lot more than anywhere else too.

Our cities ranking is according to a new study by Compare My Mobile which reveals the cost of living for a variety of products and services for the top 100 cities across the UK.

Looking at the eating out leaderboard Cambridge is the third most expensive city in the UK, with means locals are likely to pay more for an evening meal than those living in larger cities like Newcastle Upon Tyne and Belfast.

Dining out once a month costs an average £777.96 a year, for a three-course meal with cheese and wine, however, 87 miles away in Kingston Upon Thames diners pay £612.00 for the same, a staggering £165.96 saving.
