A Met Office yellow warning of strong winds has spooked organisers into cancelling events across the UK - but the team behind Ely Pride are not fazed.

Ely Pride chair Claire Giannandrea said: “Pride in Ely is still going ahead. The team have worked too hard to cancel it!”

The festivities will still happen, with guests hopefully turning up in a force as strong as the 51 miles per hour expected to gust over Cambridgeshire.

The stalls and performances will simply be moved into the Maltings Hall at the same venue on Ely Riverside, Ship Lane, Ely, Cambridgeshire, CB7 4BB.

Pride organiser Fritha Love said: “I'm confident we can still have an amazing day inside.”

Felicity Flappes, the youth dance troupe 4th Dimension, kids activities and even the ice cream will all be present, so you'd better be too!

There'll even be pride cocktails to help you weather the storm.
