A pair of teenagers - aged 16 and 17 - have been charged in connection with the stabbing of a man in Peterborough.

Police were called to Elmfield Close, Dogsthorpe, following an incident on May 6, in which a man in his 20s suffered serious injuries.

According to officers, he is now recovering.

The boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged with causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.

The 17-year-old has also been charged with possession with intent to supply cannabis.

Both boys appeared at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court today (May 19) and have been released on bail to appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on May 27.

Four other arrests have also been made in connection with the stabbing.

An 18-year-old man from Orton Malborne who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder is due to answer police bail on June 1.

A 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were both arrested on May 8 on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm (GBH), however they have both since been released with no further action.

A 47-year-old woman was also arrested on May 8 on suspicion of assisting an offender.

She has been released under investigation.
