Temperatures are set to rise across most parts of England this week as a plume of warm air heads up from the Azores.

Some parts of the country could even see temperatures exceeding 20C by Wednesday (March 27).

The East of England will see much of the sunshine, as forecasters are predicting it will stay warm through the week, with temperatures staying in double figures.

But while the weather looks set to be fine and dry for the next week or so, there is no indication Britain as a whole is in for a heatwave, reports Bristol Live.

Met Office forecasts high pressure will remain in place for the rest of March, but as we go into the first couple of weeks of April, it will be replaced by a return to the conveyor belt of Atlantic lows, bringing with it unsettled weather and April showers.
