The Godmanchester bridge over the River Great Ouse into Huntingdon was blocked.
The blockage was a result of an earlier collision on the bridge, causing queues and delays both into and out of Huntingdon.
Police advised anyone travelling around that area to seek alternative routes for their journeys today.

Police confirm recovery is complete
A police spokesman has confirmed that recovery of the vehicles was completed at around 1.15pm

The road has now cleared
According to Cambridgeshire Traffic on Twitter, the earlier days have now cleared.
Road appears to be clearing
According to Google traffic, the road seems to be clearing up now. It is not completely clear as of yet though, so it’s still worth checking before you travel.
Recovery underway
A police spokesman has confirmed that recovery of the vehicles is now underway, but he did warn that the road may still be closed for some time.

Injuries unclear at the time
A police spokesman said that the extent of injuries to those involved are unclear, but he did add that initial indications were that they were not serious.
An ambulance also attended the scene.

The bridge may remained blocked for some time
A police spokesman has said that the bridge may remain blocked for a while, and they are not yet certain of how long.
Both vehicles involved in the crash were described by the police spokesman as “undriveable” and will need to be recovered from the scene.
Police were called to the scene
A police spokesman confirmed that they were called at approximately 11.30am about a collision on the bridge.
The bridge itself is known for being narrow, and traffic has started to build up in the area.
The police spokesman also said that the two cars were travelling in opposite directions on the narrow bridge.
Police are saying to avoid the area
Huntindgon police have tweeted about the incident, asking anyone planning to travel in the area to seek alternative routes.
