An area of a Cambridgeshire park was cordoned off earlier today (May 15) due to a police incident.

The lock between Orton Mere and Thorpe Meadows at Nene Park in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire was closed to the public while officers investigated the footbridge.

Police were carrying out investigations following reports of a robbery in the area last night.

A man in his 50s was attacked by a group of men and his bike was stolen. He was taken to hospital where his injuries are thought to be serious but not life-threatening.
