Former Cambridge United midfielder Sam Squire has joined Southern League, Central side Neeham Market for the 2019/20 season.

The 19-year-old, who spent 10 years at the Abbey, was released by the club at the end of his contract.

He had spent the majority of the previous season out on loan, at first with Cambridge City before moving to his new home of Needham Market.

He joins fellow former United youth players Sam Goode and Lee Watkins in making Southern League moves, with the duo joining Marc Abbott's St Neots Town side.

Matt Foy, Charlie Johnson, Craig Foxall and Josh Jeche also left the club at the end of their contracts.
