Tequila Sunrise is bringing a variety of fresh authentic Mexican and Spanish dishes to Annapolis after it opened Saturday.

The restaurant is located at 1975 West Street in Annapolis.

“We aren’t just offering tacos and burritos,” said Jose Arroya, Vice President of Tequila Sunrise. “We want to bring an higher quality of Mexican dishes to the area.”

The grand opening for the restaurant was Saturday, Jan. 18, from from 11 a.m. until midnight.

The owner of the restaurant is Jose Buruca, who was a long time chef in Washington, D.C.

“We completely renovated the space and made it beautiful,” Arroya said.

Tequila Sunrise is set to offer lunch and dinner and is open every day of the week. It also has its full liquor license, according to Arroya.

“We don’t have nice (Mexican) restaurants in the area, only Taco Bell,” Arroya said. “I wanted to change that, bring a restaurant to the area where you can sit down with your family and enjoy it.”
