Family Fun: North Pole Lights Walk, Illuminated London Town, and more holiday fun for families in Anne Arundel

Families can sip hot cider and roast s’mores at Illuminated London Town in Edgewater on Friday and Saturday. Learn about colonial holidays at the decorated and candlelit William Brown House and enjoy performances in the specially lit gardens from 6 to 9 p.m. Families should dress for walking in cold weather and bring a flashlight.

The celebration is $6 for member adults, seniors, and youth, and $3 for member children ages 4-6. Tickets for nonmember adults are $12, $10 for nonmember seniors, $7 for nonmember youth ages 7-17, and $3 for nonmember children ages 4-6. Children 3 and under attend free. London Town, at 839 Londontown Road, will also be illuminated next Friday and Saturday. Willow Oak Flower and Herb Farm hosts a North Pole Lights Walk Friday and Saturday as well as next weekend. The North Pole Fairy will send visitors through garden flowers and arctic animals to reach the North Pole Palace and visit Santa in the Garden Cabin. The walk ends in the Christmas Barn with hot chocolate and cookies. Parking is expanded for this year’s event. Pets are not allowed.

The farm, at 8109 Telegraph Road in Severn, is open for walks from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the trail entrance or at willowoakherbs.com. Tickets for children 15 and under are $5, and those 16 and older are $7. Call 410-551-2237 for more information.

First Christian Community Church of Annapolis hosts a Family Ugly Sweater Game Night on Saturday. The group will be playing Minute to Win It, Uno and other board games from 4 to 8 p.m. Families are encouraged to wear their ugliest sweaters and bring their favorite game. Santa will be at Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kids can also enjoy hot chocolate and see the store’s train display. See A SQRRL! Family Holiday Show on Sunday at Rams Head on Stage. SQRRL is a kids band created by Annapolis native, singer/songwriter Doug Segree. Santa, Frosty, Eddie the Elf and other SQRRL-friends will make appearances at the high-energy, interactive show. Doors for the all-ages matinee open at 11 a.m. and the show starts at noon. Prism hosts a dress-up-and-play class for the first three Mondays in December at 9 a.m. in Annapolis. Kids can get dropped off and dressed up as princesses. Westfield KidCare at Annapolis Mall hosts a Parent and Me Cookie Party on Monday at 10 a.m. Parents and kids can bond while cookie-decorating, having story time, making holiday crafts and playing family games.
