Jim Peitz of Mustang Aviation in Pierre told the City Commission on Tuesday, Oct. 22, he was bringing “a first-class airshow” to town next summer on July 4th weekend.

Peitz has been flying for 45 years, taught by his father, and has flown in airshows for 30 years, he said. With his son, Clint, he runs the Pierre Regional Airport’s “fixed based operation,” or FBO. That’s a key role because he’s responsible for providing services such as fuel, repairs, and just some food and a place to rest to any aviators who land in Pierre, outside of the commercial passenger service at the terminal.
