Recently, a cosplayer used the Wipe It Down Challenge to show X-Men character Jean Grey's transformation into Dark Phoenix.Shared on Twitter, the video shows cosplayer Ødfel first wearing Jean Grey's classic green suit and yellow mask from X-Men comics before doing the Wipe It Down Challenge and appearing in the red-and-gold Dark Phoenix outfit. The video was lauded by Twitter users and has currently received over 1.3K likes.
Created by superstar comic creators Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Jean Grey was an original member of the X-Men who first appeared in 1963's X-Men #1. The character is a powerful telepath that has appeared in many live-action X-Men films with Famke Janssen portraying Grey in the first X-Men trilogy and Sophie Turner playing her in all subsequent films.
Jean Grey would transform into the villain known as Dark Phoenix during one of X-Men's most popular storylines, "The Dark Phoenix Saga." In this storyline, which first released in 1980, Jean Grey is possessed by a galactic entity known as the Phoenix Force. While possessed with the Phoenix Force, Grey displayed stronger telepathic abilities as well as pyrokinesis and immortality.
