Earlier this year, Riverdale star Luke Perry -- who played Archie Andrews' father and fan-favorite character Fred -- passed away from complications from a stroke. Now, Riverdale creator Robert Aguirre-Sacasa has shared a behind-the-scenes photo of the season premiere, which will pay tribute to the late actor.Uploaded onto Aguirre-Sacasa's personal Twitter, the photo shows Archie (KJ Apa) staring out at other characters as they stand in his backyard, which is lit by string lights and has blankets covering part of the ground. Among the characters fans can see in the photo are Betty (Lili Reinhart), Jughead (Cole Sprouse), Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Cheryl (Madeline Petsch).RELATED: Riverdale's Joise McCoy Exits Show for Katy Keene Series Regular Role

In the tweet, Aguirre-Sacasa describes the photo as the "end to an intense week for our Riverdale family" and praises the work of the cast and crew.

Following Perry's death, Aguirre-Sacasa stated that every future episode of Riverdale would be dedicated to the actor. The upcoming Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot, meanwhile, will find its own way to honor Perry.

Returning to The CW on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. EST, Riverdale stars KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Madelaine Petsch, Casey Cott, Mark Consuelos, Skeet Ulrich, Marisol Nichols and Madchen Amick.
