More than 27 years after the release of Spawn #1, the character remains a popular juggernaut of the indie comics scene. The series' landmark 300th issue, which is due for release in August, will be celebrated by no less than 10 different covers. One such cover -- drawn by J. Scott Campbell (Gen 13, Wildsiderz) -- has now been revealed by Image Comics.

Campbell's variant for Spawn #300 sees the titular character crouching on a podium. Behind him is a stained glass window with the book's title elegantly written across the middle, while depictions of Spawn's most notable foes occupy the edges.

As previously mentioned, Campbell's variant is only one of 10 covers that will be available for Spawn #300. Series creator Todd McFarlane will be involved in creating five of them. Additionally, McFarlane will pencil and ink the issue, marking the first time he has done so for the series since 1995. The other artists who will be lending their talents to Spawn #300's covers include Greg Capullo (Batman, Spawn), Jerome Opeña (Seven to Eternity, Uncanny X-Force) and Jason Shawn Alexander (Empty Zone, Spawn).

While Spawn reaching 300 issues is a momentous achievement in and of itself, when issue #301 is released, Spawn will officially become the longest-running creator-owned comic in history by surpassing Dave Sim's Cerebus.
