A Cumberland County high school teacher is wanted by deputies after they say he sent inappropriate text messages to a teen student.

The investigation into South View High School teacher Dmitri Pelaez began on Nov. 16, according to a news release from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Pelaez is listed as a world history teacher and the boy’s junior varsity soccer coach at South View.

Deputies were told “about a possible inappropriate relationship between a current student and current teacher/coach at South View High School,” the news release said.

The report said that “sexually explicit” text messages were sent to a 16-year-old victim, deputies said.
