MOUNDVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) — The Glen Ridge neighborhood has never had internet service. There are 40 homes in the subdivision and more than 100 people living there. In January, Gov.Kay Ivey announced that the subdivision would get a roughly $30,000 grant to bring highspeed internet to families living there.
It is said that Charter Communications was supposed to install internet service, but that has not happened yet.
Angie Denmark, a Moundville resident, said, “So not to have hard wire internet and to have built it specifically to have my home office here and a place for my kids to be able to do their school work and to be able to get online with friends is frustrating.”
The Denmark family put their home up for sale because they do not have internet. CBS 42 has reached out to Charter Communications to see if they could shed some light on this situation, but their phone calls were not returned.
