HARTORD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 20-year-old Hartford man was arrested after allegedly threatening the police department and city hall.
The Hartford Police Department's Emergency Communications Center received multiple phone calls between 2:27 a.m. and 3:07 a.m. on Tuesday.
According to police, the caller's voice was muffled but he could be heard using profanity and making disjointed threats against city hall.
During one of the calls, police say the caller stated, "I'm going to kill everyone at the police department, so you better," before hanging up.
Hartford Officers performed a check of city hall and the police department. Nothing suspicious was observed.
Officers were able to identify a suspect who was known to them from previous encounters and allegedly had a history of violence and of possessing weapons.
On Wednesday, officers located the suspect.
When he was placed under arrest, the suspect allegedly made additional threats to kill officers and families.
According to a release, the suspect was armed with a 6-inch knife that they had hidden in their jacket.
The suspect is facing one felony count of making Terrorist Threats, two felony counts of Threats Against Police Officers, and four misdemeanor counts of Unlawful Use of a phone.
The investigation remains ongoing.
