Scotland’s national poet says Glasgow is leading the way on slavery reparation

In Glasgow this morning a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Universities of Glasgow and the West Indies. The move coincides with the International Day of Remembrance of the Slave Trade.

A plaque to mark today’s signing was also unveiled and Scotland’s national poet Jackie Kay read a poem specially commissioned for the event.
