Motorists are facing disruption on the inner ring road in Chester again today (Wednesday, August 21) because resurfacing teams are back at the same spot.

The eastbound carriageway of St Oswalds Way, from the Fountains roundabout to the Mecca Bingo roundabout, is currently closed for the second time in less than three weeks.

CheshireLive understands contractors faced a break down with one of their machines last time.

It was also clear from the state of the road surface that workers had been unable to finish the job.

Traffic monitors are showing slow traffic around the inner ring road.

The road closure is expected to last one day with working hours stated as between 7am and 8pm.

St Oswalds Way eastbound, between the Fountains roundabout and the Mecca Bingo roundabout, is currently closed.

Signs are also warning the other side of the carriageway will be closed for two days starting tomorrow (Thursday) between 9.30am and 4pm. However, it is anticipated the work will only last for one day.

A lane closure has also been in place around the Mecca bingo roundabout to allow the installation of the supertrees but that operation is now almost complete.
