A nine-year-old Chester Blue Coat CE Primary School pupil is planning to hike up Snowdon for charity.

Paige, who also plays for Waverton Bees football team, first donated to the Little Princess Trust charity last August, when she was eight.

Paige had grown her hair for two years to be able to donate it to the trust - who use the donations to make wigs for children suffering with cancer.

Craig Harris, Paige’s father, said: “This was a decision she made herself and surprised both myself and her mum when she said she didn’t want her hair cutting explaining her reasons why. Needless to say we were very proud of her caring and kind nature and supported her in achieving her goal.

“Paige is a very kind, caring and loving little girl who will go out of her way to help others - this is something her teachers often tell us too.”

After donating her hair last year, Paige has this year decided to do an event for the same charity by hiking up Snowdon on the Llanberis path this Saturday (April 20).

Paige will be doing the walk accompanied by her dad and her grandmother - with a couple of other family members and close friends.

She chose the Little Princess Trust for a multitude of reasons, one being the loss of her mum’s best friend to cancer, Debbie Ford, in whose memory Paige will be doing the walk.
