Further flood warnings and alerts have been issued in Cheshire .

Persistent, heavy rain caused major disruption across the county yesterday - which continues today (Thursday, June 13).

A yellow Met Office weather warning for rain remains in place until 12pm.

Further flood alerts and warnings have now been issued.

They affect the whole of Cheshire - you can find the full list of the areas affected below.

Flood Warnings

Below are flood warnings, which suggest the possibility of flooding - asking people to be prepared

River Gowy catchment area

Those in Frodsham will be affected by rising levels of the River Gowy at the Bridge Trafford.

A flood warning is currently in place for the area, with a possibility of flooding for low lying land and roads around the River Milton and Hornsmill/Hool, Stanney Mill and Thornton Brooks and their tributaries.

River levels are expected to remain high for the remainder of the day, with incident response staff monitoring the situation.

River Dee catchment area

A number of flood alerts and warnings are in place across Cheshire today (Thursday, June 13)

River levels at the Farndon river gauge continue to rise as a result of heavy rainfall.

Consequently, flooding of low lying land, roads and farmland is expected throughout this morning.

There is also a possibility of flooding for low lying land and roads around the River Dee at Shocklach, Farndon, Handley, Lower Kinnerton, Chester and Puddington.

Further heavy showers will affect the area this evening and into tomorrow morning.

River levels are expected to remain high for the next few days.

River Weaver catchment area

River levels at the River Weaver at Shrewbridge also continue to rise as a result of persistent heavy rainfall.

There's the possibility of flooding on low-lying land and roads surrounding the Rivers Weaver, Ducklow and Wheelock and their tributaries.

Below are flood alerts, which are more serious than flood warnings and require immediate action for the expectation of flooding.

Shrewbridge Lodge

Following prolonged rainfall over Cheshire river levels on the Weaver at Shrewbridge are expected to rise.

It's believed that Shrewbridge Lodge in Nantwich may flood.

Authorities ask people to be aware of their surroundings and stay up-to-date with the current situation.

Any property flood protection products you have should be activated.

Winsford

Due to the adverse weather conditions there is the chance for flooding to properties on Station Road in Winsford.

People are asked to remain aware of their surroundings and stay up-to-date on the situation.
