The A540 Parkgate Road is shut this afternoon following a serious collision.
Emergency services were called to the incident shortly after 1.30pm today (Friday, May 31).
Two vehicles were involved, and one casualty has been airlifted to hospital.
A spokeswoman for Cheshire police told CheshireLive that the road remains closed between Shotwick Lane and the A5117 while accident investigators conduct enquiries at the scene.
Cheshire Fire say: "Firefighters were called to a collision on the A540 Parkgate Road in Saughall, Chester following reports of a two vehicle collision.
"Crews removed the roof of one of the vehicles and extricated a casualty. They then handed him over to the air ambulance to be transported to hospital. "
