Chester FC are expecting around 800 Hereford FC fans to make the trip to the Deva Stadium on Bank Holiday Monday.

The Blues face a tough Bank Holiday weekend, travelling to Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday (3pm) before welcoming Tim Harris' Bulls side to the Deva on Monday (also 3pm kick off).

Cheshire Live understands that Blues officials are expecting a big away contingent on Monday, with their Hereford counterparts informing Chester that they expect around 800 away fans to make the trip to Cheshire, with Cheshire Constabulary understood to be putting the figure at a 1,000 estimate.

The game is not all ticket and Hereford fans will be housed in the South Stand and Swettenhams Chemists Stand for the game, as is the norm with sizeable away support.

There will be no alcohol allowed inside the Deva Stadium, however, this being at the request of Police. At National League North level and below alcohol is permitted to be drunk in view of the pitch unless otherwise instructed by the relevant authorities.

Chester, who have enjoyed a strong start to the National League North season will be hoping for a bumper turnout and plenty of their own home fans to make their way down Bumpers Lane for the clash.

The Blues began the season with just under 2,200 in attendance for the draw with Altrincham but the previous two home games against Farsley Celtic and Gloucester City, both of which ended in Chester wins, have been attended by just over 1,600.

Last season, Chester and Hereford were due to face each other on Bank Holiday Monday but the game was postponed and shifted to a Tuesday night in October after the flood damage at the Deva that wreaked havoc with the Blues' opening month, seeing the postponement of three successive home games.
